I saw TransAmerica this weekend, and it was a very good movie. I must say it didn't make me like Broke.Back Mountain did.

Felicity Huffman deserved her Globe for this movie.
The movie is about a pre-op male-to-female transexual who finds out a week before the pre-op surgery that she has a son. She really had me thinking she was a man for real!

The fact that the movie is only being shown at independent film theatres in Dallas, it was so good, I forgot it wasn't a mainstream movie.

I think without her performance, this movie would've been mediocre. In addition to the transexual element, this movie turns into a bonding of a family, when so often, this subject usually tears a family apart.
