From her distant grandmother’s side, she looks slightly Indian, much to her pleasure. Occasionally likes to wear clothes SHE thinks match in color but sometimes don’t. Never wears a skirt unless in school and if she has stockings or shorts unless in hot weather. Personality: Occasionally shows ‘tomboyish’ characteristics. All in all nice person and usually obeys the rules unless she thinks some are unfavorable. (Luckily for the teachers, she obeys most of the rules.) A very hard-headed girl at times. Considered a ‘girl scout’ by most of her age since she likes to be prepared and often helps the teacher even when not asked. Can sometimes be childish but acts like an individual if she wants. Is often quiet but once she opens her mouth, can be very talkative if she wants to. She can be a bit of a philosopher at times (especially with her dad). Doesn’t really tolerate annoyance and often is short-tempered…Unless it’s with friends. Patronus (if applicable) An Asian water buffalo, supposedly representing her hard-working grandfather. Boggart (if applicable) Her first two high school Math teacher or herself in a puffy dress. Special Abilities: She speaks English very fluently, surprising by most Asian standards. And her imaginative mind helps her in some of the aspects of homework. Often ends up waking up only 4 hours after she sleeps. Can actually ride a broom without falling from her first flight. Strengths: Apparently has a great deal of imagination and good skills when it comes to arts. (Depends on the kinds of art she does.) Can be good at certain subjects if she wants or has no clue of it. Weaknesses: Has poor Math skills. Gets tired and lazy very easily. Can sometimes procrastinate. Her temper often gets the better of her. When she hurts someone (physically of emotionally) sometimes she doesn't realize it. General History: She was born in a hospital in Manila, Philippines, a year and one day apart from her sister Kimm. (Strangely) After her preschool days, she had the intention of being quite and often short-tempered. But to this, entirely she was quite close with her grandfather. (Who she didn’t know was a pure-blooded wizard.) He taught her the ways of being a good person, being a well-going Christian, a few lessons in life and (after getting her magical powers at the age of eight and revealing her heritage) the basics in being a witch. Due to her interests in mere magic, she got off to a pretty good start. It was also from him that she got a good start in her drawing talents (and her interests in other forms of art as well). But as it seems, wizards and witches were very rare in their country. (Shown as it since there is no school for Kate to go to for wizard standards) It may have been coincidental or mere faith that she met Headmaster Shires in a wizardry convention in her favorite city, but the same thing happened afterwards: He accepted the little Asian girl as a guest foreign exchange student at the school she was in now. Excited and grateful about her new found scholarship, she jumped for joy at the very spot they met. Since she was in another country, Kate was accompanied by the Headmaster himself in a muggle-made flying machine. (An airplane) When Kate and the headmaster made it to London, the first went to Daigon Alley, in which she marveled at so many of the magical objects and people. Her favorite store were an ice cream shop, a book store, a very popular joke shop (Though she couldn’t remember the names) and some place called Ollivander’s Wands, where she got her very first wand of Oakwood and phoenix feather. Apparently, she seemed to like the sill headmaster for his weird sense of humor. (Then again, she finds anything weird interesting and a good thing.) A few hours after she had entered the school’s private train (which could be entered by going through a wall of some kind) she thought about how things at her new school will be. Will they accept her being foreign? Are the students and teachers friendly? Will she pass the school year? How can she get used to life in UK? What house will I be in? But as she entered the school doors for the first time, the questions would soon have been answered. After the Welcome feast at the Great Hall and the Sorting was done, she was placed in Gryffindor. (But it was to her amazement because she was expected by some teachers that she might end up in Ravenclaw or Slytherin, but she’s too nice and not into academics at times) Upon arrival into the Common Room, she carried a huge luggage with her (regretted the fact that she didn’t let the school handle it instead) and made a scene after falling face first on the floor with her luggage. After trying to get up with the help of a blond male student, a house elf named Dobby appeared with a mug of hot chocolate (a favorite drink of Kate’s, but she didn’t order any at that time) and mentioned that a certain male student ordered it for her. A few girls giggled at the subject, saying that she might have a secret admire, but Kate had barely known anyone but the Headmaster and a few of the teachers, let alone any male student that might appeal to her. After her first month in the school, she got used to the homework and looks she’d get and eventually got along fine with the students, mostly Gryffindors like her. (And a good few students from the other houses) But all the while, she kept wondering who gave her that mug of hot coco during her first day. She's currently trying to keep up with the school and all the homework. Wonder what'll happen? |
